10 Ways to Stay Healthy

As I myself am recovering from a nasty bout of the sickies, I understand that being sick is awful. Having to miss parties, drink enormous amounts of orange juice, and swallowing the dreaded decongestant make being sick even worse than it needs to be. So, I’ve compiled a list of 10 ways to stay healthy so that you don’t have to miss out on the fun of being healthy!

1. Take Your Vitamins Yeah, I know they taste funny and remembering to take them is hard, but this quick 1-minute task will make sure you aren’t in bed with the sniffles but out on the floor dancing!

2. Exercise Regularly A bit difficult to fix in your schedule sometimes, doing a little bit of exercise a day helps you keep away sickly toxins and gives out endorphins, which make you happy. Also, exercising has been proven to keep away depression, so there’s two-in-one!

3. Eat Your Vegetables Eating right keeps your immune system flawless, making sick germs stay away.

4. Spend Time Outdoors Staying cooped inside all day means that germs have an even better chance of getting to you. So go outside and get some fresh air. The newer oxygen will keep your brain flowing and you won’t be breathing in any old germs.

5. Use Hand Sanitizer If you cough, sneeze, or come into close contact who has done so, use some hand sanitizer. You can even buy some scented sanitizer and pocket-sized containers! My current sanitizer? Bath & Body Works Nectarine Mint Anti-bacterial hand gel.

6. Don’t Share Food or Drink Even if the person isn’t sick, they can have remaining sick germs or can be a carrier for a sickness. By just avoiding sharing your pop with someone, it can save you two weeks of sneezing.

7. Wash Your Linens Frequently Keep away any unhealthy germs by washing your sheets every week or so. By taking away even the slightest bacteria, you can be proven another week without illness!

8. Green Tea Is a Lifesaver Among other healthful benefits, green tea is the ultimate drink. Weight loss, cancer prevention, germ killer, green tea is a great thing to drink regularly. I like to have smoothies in the morning and hot tea after dinner. Starbucks makes fantastic green tea.

9. Move Away From Sickness It’s okay to change seats on the subway if the person next to you is coughing up a lung. By removing yourself from this obvious spreading of germs, you are saving your health. And that’s technically not considered rude.

10. See Your Doctor Regularly Whether it be every month or six, see your doctor. He knows how to check your body for illness. Schedule an appointment as regularly as you or your insurance can afford and definitely ask your doctor about other illness preventions.
