Is anyone else’s mood like
I am so glad this week is done because now I can focus on weekend projects, wearing a large amount of pajama pants, and Valentine’s Day!
Now, on the week of Valentine’s Day it is all about setting a standard. 1) Not looking like a super slob so your date doesn’t mistake you for a wall instead of their Valentine and 2) Getting healthy so you can live up to the actual date. And that’s why this week’s favourites are revolved around a natural look and a naturally healthy routine.
All of these products (and one non-product) have helped me come up with a more natural, easygoing week that is perfect for Valentine’s week because you don’t want to stress and you don’t want to work that eliptical like crazy Sunday morning. Let these favourites help you to an easier you any week.
Let’s get natural!
The Natural Route: A Favourites Friday
This was a free Sephora sample and when it runs out I’m buying 30. I normally layer mascaras, but this mascara seriously does everything I could possibly want. And with it plumping, separating, lengthening, etc., it also makes my lashes look natural, which is what you want. If someone says, “Oh, I love your mascara!” you need to buy a different one. Warning: Be careful with the brush, it will poke anyone careless enough.
Green tea with lemon
I’m on a big tea kick right now (we’re talking 4 cups a day, people) and green tea with lemon has topped my daily list. Whether it’s a green tea with lemon flavouring, or a squeeze of lemon in my cup, the two flavours together are to die for. Perfect for a cold, or a morning treat while checking emails, this tea is being added to my daily routine for being so great.
You’ve probably seen these on Pinterest. I always thought they were silly, but they’ve completely changed my workout game. I simply choose one that goes with a song I like and get my exercises in without feeling drawn out or bored. If you struggle with working out like me, try one of these and see how it goes.
I’ve been using bareMinerals powder foundations since my mother taught me what makeup is. And when I learned there was a matte formula, you can believe I was ordering it right away! I prefer this to the normal formula because it fights off oily skin better and I find there is more coverage. I can actually only wear this without a liquid formula and still get an even skin tone without too much powder. Definitely a new staple in my makeup bag.
No heat hair

^ One rare natural hair photo
My biggest struggle in life has always been my natural hair. There are few photos on my Instagram where I haven’t curled, straightened, scrunched, etc. my hair to looking gorgeous. And as my hair has now turned into a wavy mess with straight top at the ripe age of 20, I have had to learn to deal with it when I don’t have time for any hot tools. This week I have worn my hair completely natural, no tool at all, and have learned to love it for what it is. My hair also seems healthier, which makes me love it even more!
What are your favourites of this week? What do you use to prep for Valentine’s Day?
