Okay Morgan, where have you been?
Yes, spring break has put me a bit of a hiatus from any responsibilities. It wasn’t intentional, but a break from the stress and focusing on friends and good vibes was the best thing I could have ever done for myself.
I went to the Oregon coast for the weekend and just had the best time. Think hamburgers on the back deck overlooking the ocean during sunset kind of perfection. It was so relaxing to hear the ocean at night and to walk the sandy shores with my best friends, catching up after being so busy the last few months.
But now I’m back to real life (whoo?) and it’s time to share all the wonderful little things that made my spring break so great before I head back to the Eug for school and one more term closer to graduation this summer.
So let’s dive into the favourites!
The Spring Break of Relaxation: A Favourites Friday
After a long week of staying up with friends until the wee hours playing board games, and early mornings running on the beach, when you arrive back to reality you realize that the bags under your eyes aren’t designer – they’re disastrous. That’s why these collagen eye pads are amazing. Simply apply under your eyes and 20 minutes later it’s like you’ve slept your entire life. Honestly the best investment you can make.
2. Rockaway Beach, OR
This is where our beach house was, and I must say for how small Rockaway Beach is, it is truly a charming little coastal town. The ocean stretches for miles, and the people are so serene and lovely. It was a great place to take a holiday.
3. The Other Woman
This movie is hilarious and perfect for sitting on the couch with your bests and just laughing your butts off. Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, and Kate Upton are completely in their element in a beautiful film about friendship in the most unlikely circumstances. Best. Chick. Flick. Ever.
4. Pacific Northwest lounge wear
This is a term my mother coined after seeing me after a weekend of wearing comfy clothes and pulling together my laziest looks because I was on holiday. Think leggings, San Francisco sweatshirt, woolen socks, shearling boots, plaid overshirt, and a lazy half-up hairdo to complete the look. It’s Pacific Northwest lounge wear in it’s finest and is currently all I am okay wearing.
Okay, this is one of those things you buy to travel and end up being so obsessed you use them all the time. I bought these brushes because I travel a lot and wanted something compact to just stick in my bag for small travels. These brushes are pretty cheap (only $30) and are very decent, especially the powder brush. I plan on using these on a more regular basis now, and I highly recommend having them if you’re on and off transport every other week.
