As we start to imagine wearing shorts at the park and sleeping in all Sunday, let us spend this Friday remembering everything fantastic that has happened this past week.
First off, how was everyone’s 4th? Do you miss the three-day weekend as much as I do? I spent it in the sun listening to good music and gaining an appreciation for Coors Light. Yeah, I actually had a beer and didn’t feel like gagging, it was a life-changing moment.
This Favourites Friday is just about everything fantastic that has happened since we checked out last weekend and I hope you’ll try all of these out and fall just as in love as I did!

Post July 4th Blues: A Favourites Friday
I received this ring in my last Rocksbox (click here and use code morganhbff4 for a free month) and am so in love with it that I bought it! I’ve worn it about every day and I love it for it’s simplicity, yet it is so dynamic. I’ve worn it with my festival outfit, with shorts and a v-neck, with a nice top and jeans, heck, it even made it into my date outfit! Seriously, this ring is a must-have!
2. ZZ Ward
I spent my July 4th weekend in Portland with the bestie Lex and went to the Waterfront Blues Festival. If you’ve never gone, you need to. And while I was soaking up the sun and chatting with my best friend over a Mike’s Hard, ZZ Ward was serenading us with her incredible tunes. I’ve loved her music for forever, but her talent always leaves me speechless. Such an amazing show.
3. 4pm showers
This one is an odd favourite, but it’s been a life saver this past week. Because of early hours and late nights as I catch up with work from the long weekend, when I get home at 4pm I shower. So I’m clean for dinner with my roommates, and when I wake up in the morning I don’t look too grimy. I believe it is the perfect time to shower, and it means I can sleep in an additional 35 minutes!
I’ve never had Henna done before, but I had it done this weekend and I feel like I’ve just stepped out of a Coachella commercial, I feel so cool. I had a ‘sleep moon’ done and it looks really beautiful, if I say so myself. As someone terrified of commitment (well, with body modification at least) trying some temporary tattoo is teaching me exactly how much commitment would come with a tattoo. Stay posted for how I feel after two weeks of it on.
Anyone who has spent even a minute shopping with me knows I am pickier about shoes than I am my men. Shoes are what ties together the entire outfit, so they need to be perfect. I really wanted a pair of sandals this summer that were backless, visually interesting, and good for both casual and dressy wear. I found the perfect sandals, on sale for $16 at Target, and I have worn them about every day since. Like my ring, I’ve worn them with my casual dress/chambray shirt festival combo, my chiffon dress/denim jacket date night combo, my eyelet top/cuffed jeans work ensemble, etc. They work for everything and I need more pairs pronto!
