As July draws to a close and we watch the days turn hot and the nights turn long (seriously, does anyone fall asleep before midnight anymore?) I find myself in a little slump. I’m exhausted by 3 o’clock, my appearance is whack, and I find myself monotonous with work.
BUT THAT’S GONNA CHANGE!
My goal this week was to focus on things that made my life crummy, such as the aforementioned above. This Favourites Friday focuses on the things this week that brought a smile to my face, made long days of work worth it, and kept me from looking like a homeless bum walking into a business. It’s truly been a week, but with everything below, I made it work.
Let’s find out what these amazing favourites were…

Overworked, But Living the High Life: A Favourites Friday
What do you mean you haven’t gorged yourself on this perfection? As a proclaimed mac & cheese hater, I have never bought a box of mac & cheese in my life until last Saturday. Now I’ve expanded to trying new flavours. This mac & cheese is not only delicious, but it’s organic, creamy, and has so many variations it’s impossible not to love! Currently I’m (completely) obsessed with the Whole Wheat Shells & White Cheddar and the Alfredo Shells & Cheddar. Both are perfection!
2. ‘Girls Talk Boys’ by 5 Seconds of Summer
I love this song. I love it so much that when I am home alone (which is 90% of the time) I blast it and dance around in my kitchen singing into a wooden spoon as I make my Annie’s. And I love Ghostbusters too, so clearly it was a match made in heaven.
I’m always on the prowl for mascaras (9 times out of 10 my FFs have a mascara featured) and I love this new addition to my makeup bag. It leaves my lashes looking long and curls them delicately. And it doesn’t smudge when you sleep later, so when you end up taking a nap right before your new guy comes over, your mascara isn’t going to leave you looking like a ghoul. I really love how flirty this makes my lashes and am excited to add another Marcelle product to my bag.
I wish someone would have told me how stupid this show is earlier so I could have started watching it long ago. Not only is it ridiculous (literally, Olivia Benson would have them all fired ASAP) but it’s comical in that way that anything starring Andy Samberg could be. I have spent many of the last few nights curled up with my colouring book and tea watching episode after episode clutching my laughing gut. Also, Terry is the best!
I love this lotion. I love it so much that I want to buy every bottle in the store so it can be exclusively mine. This lotion healed a horrible sunburn in three days, completely healed the cracked skin on my foot in four hours, keeps my legs moisturized all day long, and doesn’t leave skin feeling sticky. Most of this week has me been applying a generous amount to my body and feeling like a silky smooth goddess of aloe. This lotion is that good.
For those who don’t know, I have very dry, sweaty feet that gives me athelete’s foot every once in a while. And that leads to cracked skin on my feet. I applied about a quarter of lotion to each foot, put on some moisturizing socks, and four hours later I couldn’t even tell there’d been a crack. BUY THIS.
I hope these products will bring you as much joy as they’ve brought me, and that your skin will be as soft as ever!
Catch me next week to discuss textbooks, getting organized, and lots more!
