As the weather takes a turn and my skin starts to go, “What is this cooler weather?” I realize it’s time to update my beauty routine for breezy winds and misty nights. No longer can I live off oily/dewy skin and bronzer.
It’s time for AUTUMN.
This week I broke out my cooler weather products to keep my skin looking fresh and clean, and maintaining every bit of that summer glow before it fades back into ghostly pale. These favourites focus on keeping matte, moisturized skin and bouncy hair. Let’s go!

The Relax-a-cation: A Favourites Friday
After a summer of long days at dusty festivals, morning walks to work, and sitting by the pool, my pores need some deep cleaning. This scrub gets everything out of my pores and provides my skin with the love it needs. It never makes my skin feel tight and clears up any acne overnight.
I am once again on my search for perfect foundation (it’s a new search every season!) and I’m beginning it with this star. This foundation leaves my skin looking almost poreless – and the only things bigger than my pores are moon craters – and fights off all the oil to leave my skin looking fresh all day long. It’s very lightweight with great coverage, and I’m thinking it’s about to be a regular in my collection.
Now that I’ve stopped washing my hair every day, during the autumn I still need hair that looks bouncy and healthy for buns and messy curls. This dry shampoo is perfection – and inexpensive. It doesn’t leave any white residue and instantly adds bounce. Add it to hair before sleeping and wake up with hair that looks freshly done. Autumn hair = done.
I have used the same concealer for years, and switching to this hardcore one was the best idea. Not only does it cover all the little imperfections and dark areas, but it is moisturizing and easy to blend in. Plus it looks so cute! For cooler weather having a concealer that gives you a second skin.
As a light-skinned woman I usually buy peachy or pale pink blushes because everything looks too harsh. But this autumn I’m striking it bold with darker blushes. Just like last year’s dark lipstick takeover, now it is dark blushes. I am in love with the dark peachy colour for a healthy blush, and look forward to using the darkest colour – sparingly – for a warm flush to my face all autumn long.
