Favourites Friday No.111

Does anyone else feel they've watched ALL television EVER? The nice thing about the country still being shut down is I can catch up on everything I've missed, but now that I'm caught up I'm ready for concerts, restaurants, and being around people for eight hours a day. I've brought some reading and cooking into the mix, but it's just not the same. Luckily the weather is going to be beautiful for the next few weeks in Portland, and I'm ready for reading on my balcony and long walks in the neighborhood.

Hunters

Nazis are hiding in America and a group of Nazi hunters in 1977 New York are out for blood. If you love history, Al Pacino, or gorgeous film aesthetics, get yourself onto Amazon to watch this gem. It's a tad gory, but paints such a vivid visualization of what happened during the Holocaust, and the impact it has on its survivors. I finished the first season in a week because once you watch one episode, you have to watch the next.

Imperfect Foods

Just like I love giving out recommendations, I love getting them. After a friend told me how much she loved her Imperfect Food box, I knew I had to give it a try. After my first box, I was hooked. For ~$40, I had a week of fresh, delicious fruits and veggies, proteins, and snacks. It's become a convenient way to have a healthier diet for a better price. They have a repeat customer in me!

If you are interested in trying the box, click here for my personal code for $10 off. No sponsor here, I just really love what this company is doing for food waste.

Buy Yourself the F*cking Lilies by Tara Schuster

This jewel is my latest summer read, and only a few chapters in I feel like my life has changed. Tara covers how she turned her life around from unhappy to happy and how you can adapt what worked for her. It's basically therapy in a book without any psychology. The techniques she shares are simple, and she will beat down any excuse you have to not do them. I'd like to think of her as my new best friend who wants nothing but the best for me. We all deserve that! Buy it from independent bookstore Chevalier's Books (on sale now) here.

Umbrella Academy

As always, I'm late to the party. With Season 2 out today, get yourself on the boat for this action-packed adventure of a show. It's very Sci-Fi (let's remember, it's based off a graphic novel) but absolutely phenomenal to watch. Now, excuse me, I have a new season to watch.

Youth to the People Superfood Cleanser

There has been such a hype about this cleanser, so obviously the beauty enthusiast in me had to have it. And it's worth every single review. The minute I incorporated this into my routine, my complexion became a glowing miracle. Over Zoom I had someone mention how dewy and healthy my skin looks. I use it every morning, and with it's fairly affordable price tag, I will be using it every morning for quite some time.
