We’ve having a birthday party!

Three years ago today, I sat down with my laptop and decided to start a blog. I named the blog “Teenage Enthusiasm” because I am a teenager (15 at the time) and am, and always will be, an enthusiast.

Upon starting my blog, I did not see myself garnering any sort of audience. I write for myself and,let’s face it, I was a young girl living in a small town. My dreams of writing weren’t incredibly ambitious.

In May of 2011, I was Freshly Pressed on WordPress. The look of shock on my face should have been recorded, I was so flabbergasted! How could people like to read the writing of a boring teenage girl? But this was only the beginning of Teenage Enthusiasm’s success.

In July of 2012, while I was off traipsing about Europe, I was Freshly Pressed again. What I had thought to be a simply post about my views on blogging while I was not near a computer and getting sunstroke in France, people were reading it like hotcakes and telling me I had a knack. Yeah, it was kind of a pivotal moment.

In December of 2013, I came up with the ripe total of 850 followers. That’s right, 850 people who deem my writing worth reading.

Which brings us back to January 1, 2011, the day I decided to truly be a writer. I wasn’t writing for anyone but myself. And now here I am, 18 years old, a college student, brimming with success and opportunity, and I couldn’t be more thankful. These three years have changed me, mostly for the better, and it wouldn’t be possible without this Internet thing that people keep on reading.

My writing career is taking off as we speak and I am so lucky to be able to share this experience with all of you. I am so fortunate that you have all decided to take the ride that has become my life and cheer me on. And for that, I’m giving you all a million cookies.

But this is not the end of the Enthusiasm road, no, it is far from it. 2014 is going to be the best year yet, and I know you’re going to love it!

What Does Morgan Have In Store for 2014?

First off, we have a special guest post from one of my great friends in January, so you can look forward to that.

My best friend and I have a super special collaboration coming up later this year, and it’s going to blow. Your. Minds!

I have a great new range of friends in the blogging world, and they are going to be making some appearances.

I have recently purchased a Mac, so you know that’s going to add a whole new level of sophistication to things.

I will be launching my advice column

And there is plenty more that will be going on to! This year is going to be chock full of fun and collaborations and guests and writing and everything that makes Teenage Enthusiasm the place for enthusiasts to be!
