Movie Monday: Feel Good Favourites

It’s the third day of Everyday Enthusiasm, which means it’s Movie Monday!

Today I wanted to focus on feel good movies that I love, because it’s important when life is stressful to have a repertoire of films that make the stress go away just for a little bit. Personally, I love feel good movies that are able to take you to another mindset and let you fill up with joy for an hour and a half. And that’s why I’m going to share my favourites that do that.

6 Feel Good Films for Stressful Days

1. The Other Woman

There’s something about Leslie Mann dressing like a Connecticut housewife and being ridiculous that never fails to put a smile on my face. This hilarious film follows three women who are all seeing the same man and decide to give him a little taste of revenge. The friendship they gain is beautiful and heart warming.

2. Love Actually

A Christmas favourite, but good all year long. There is a special place in my heart for watching a group of people who fall in love, discover love, and have laughs along the way. It’s classic British comedy, which means not everyone is going to love it, but it’s a classic for me and never fails in putting me in a good mood.

3. The Boat That Rocked

My absolute favourite movie, and it has never failed in making someone laugh. I’ve had plenty of people watch it for that reason. Between quirky DJs, 60/70s fashion, and amazing rock and roll music, how could you not feel like getting up and dancing by the end?

4. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Matthew Broderick decides to ‘borrow’ a car and sings “Shout” in a parade. How could this not make your day significantly better?

5. About a Boy

A truly touching story where Hugh Grant befriends young, awkward, friendless Nicholas Hoult while his mother attempts suicide and Grant pretends to have a young child. One of the best Nick Hornby books made into a film, and the film is beautifully done with the amount of love that is put into it.

6. The Way, Way Back

After seeing this film, I was filled with so much hope and joy and other feel good stuff that I recommended it almost everyone I know. It’s a great story about a boy who feels alone finding a place where he’s not alone, and it’s really great.

These movies never fail to put a smile on my face and feel good inside, something we all need to do every once in a while. Movies are an amazing piece of art and deserve to be appreciated often.

I hope you enjoyed Movie Monday and come back tomorrow for Travel Tuesday!
