Everyday Enthusiasm Day 7: Musing Mondays
Welcome to week 2 of Everday Enthusiasm! In honour of the concert I’m attending on Thursday, I thought I would take a trip on memory lane to last summer when I saw Bruno Mars in Portland. Let’s begin our journey, shall we?
Morgan and the Amazing Bruno Mars Concert
Last summer I was the lucky winner of two tickets from Global Citizen to see Bruno Mars in Portland for his Moonshine Jungle tour. It was the coolest (and pretty much only) thing I’ve ever won and, not gonna lie, Bruno Mars totally rocked that show.
I am the most awkward person when taking pictures in public.
I took my mother as my +1 because, despite the fact she is my mother and I can be quite the pill, I adore her more than life itself. It was our last little trip away before I started university and to this day we both agree it was in our Top 5 Best Days Ever.
Ellie Goulding was the opening act, and if you don’t know already, I LOVE Ellie. I love her music, I love her style, I love her interviews, I just love her. So getting to her on stage was kind of a BIG deal. She sang a fantastic set and she had so much energy, it was awesome! I’m possibly the worst person ever to describe concerts, but I want you all to know it was so great!
When Bruno finally came on stage, I was super curious because he had quite the stage setup. And as someone who didn’t follow Bruno Mars very closely before this, I had zero idea what to expect. But what did I get? COMPLETE AWESOMENESS!
If you ever have the chance to go see a Bruno Mars show, I highly suggest you do. It is high energy, it is fun, it sounds amazing, and you’re guaranteed two hours of a great experience. Even though there was a gaggle of 16-year-old girls rudely dancing in front of me, picking their short shorts out of their bums, and yelled, “Bruno, take my virginity!” it was still a really great time. That’s just how good his show is.
To this day, Bruno was still the best concert I’ve gone to. It was one of those shows where anyone could have a good time and Bruno is also just really chill with the audience. Definitely one of my fondest memories!
And that’s all I really have to say on this Musing Monday! Sometimes a memory is so fond that you have trouble really putting your feelings into words. Bruno was really amazing, and I’m really excited to see how the concert on Thursday goes!
Thanks so much for reading and make sure to check back tomorrow for Talk About It Tuesday! I’ve got to go pack now, but I love you all lots!
