My Favourite Holiday Films

One of the best parts of the holiday season is the movies. There’s something about the wholesome jolly that are Christmas films. And when it gets to December they are all I watch!

Since it is Monday and I will likely spend after work watching movies and drinking hot chocolate, I thought I would share my favourite films for the holiday season!

The Holiday

One of my ultimate favourites, I love this classic switching lives story involving Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. Between the idyllic English countryside and sunny LA – not to mention the quick-witted humour – this is one of my favourites to watch when the season comes around.

The Santa Clause

Tim Allen is amazing as a man-turned-Santa with humour and an engaging plot. I’ve been watching this every year since I was little and it never loses the belly laughter. If only every Christmas movie was like it.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

A classic tale told in live action, I first saw this with my friend Maddie and whenever I watch it I think of being in kindergarten and being completely blown away by how amazing the aesthetics were. Not to mention Jim Carrey in one of his best roles.

Love Actually

Another British classic I love, this film is always on my list. There’s something about how it embraces Christmas is such an unusual way that makes it a classic. Not to mention an incredible cast.

Christmas With the Kranks

This one never fails to be absolutely classic in both humour and story. Jamie Lee Curtis and Tim Allen play the perfect traditional parents looking to get away on vacation, only for it all to spectacularly fail. Let us always remember how marvelous Tim Allen looked in his tan.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

A spectacular animated Tim Burton feature that shows Christmas in a new way. If you love Halloween as much as you love Christmas you will absolutely love this film.
