Pirate Radio: My absolute favorite film ever! It’s filled with raunchy jokes, creative personalities, fantastic music, and some of the best one-liners you will ever hear. I love it with every fiber of my being. It captures everything about British radio in the ‘60s, but with an interesting and fun story line. And nothing is better than fun history! Peter Pan: This film is the reason I love acting. There is nothing I can say bad about it. The youth, the creativity, the complete lack of limitations make Peter Pan just the best film ever. I’ve always wished that Peter Pan would swoop down and fly me to Neverland. I want to stand on the clock tower overlooking London. If I could choose one place to live, it would be inside Peter Pan’s world.
Pretty in Pink: Andrew McCarthy and James Spader in the same film. How could I not enjoy it? A film about people from different sides of the tracks becoming romantically involved while their friends are trying to keep them on their appropriate sides just makes my feet tingle. It’s wonderfully romantic and the costume design is impeccable. I love this film and it’s fantastic love triangle.
Grease: My second favorite musical (my first being Broadway’s She Loves Me) Grease is the epitome of realistic ‘70s high school musical. If you loved High School Musical but wished that it wasn’t by Disney Channel, that it was a bit more raunchy, John Travolta had played Troy Bolton, and that their was actual kissing, then watch this. Because it is amazing!
Moulin Rouge: A new film on my top 10, there is no doubt that I adore it. The set design is breath-taking, Ewan McGregor is very cute, and the costumes are beautiful. The tragic story of a man falling in love with a dancer and having to fight for her against a duke, while a play that is parallel to that storyline is being put together, is just beautiful and will make you cry. I love it!
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: My favorite Matthew Broderick role, this is the perfect film for a sick day off of school. Ferris will bring you on a trip of breaking the rules and taking advantage of life. Who wouldn’t want to take a Ferrari out on the town instead of going to school? The best film for a sick day, or any day actually!
Rocky Horror Picture Show: I love watching this with my friends. Tim Curry is at his element and the music has created a revolution. My parents, when they lived in Pasadena, California, used to live near a theatre and every Saturday they’d have Rocky and transvestites walking by their house. One of the best cult films I have ever seen.
Driving Lessons: Rupert Grint and Julie Walters play a phenomenal duo in this inspirational film of becoming your own person, standing up for what you know is right, and just having fun. Julie Walters is definitely playing one of my favorite roles as a retired actress who never truly retired as she teaches Rupert’s character to forget his cheating mother and actually enjoy life.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: My favorite Harry Potter film as stated here. As according to Entertainment Weekly this week, it was polled to be the second most popular Harry Potter film. Between the introduction of a new villains and some memorable creatures, it is the only Harry Potter film that I watch as itself, not as part of the series.
Something’s Gotta Give: I love all Diane Keaton films, and this is no exception. She plays as an incredible playwright who learns she can let go as she plays hostess to her young daughter’s boyfriend, ladies’ man Jack Nicholson. And of course the addition of Keanu Reeves as the adorable doctor just puts you on the edge of your seat.
