Are you telling me that five years ago I decided to sit on my bed and create a blog? And that I’ve kept writing in this blog since then? What?
The Enthusiast, formerly known as Teenage Enthusiasm, has been around for five years. That’s five years of blog posts, Instagram challenges, emails, advice, etc. And considering I’m 20, that’s a quarter of my life dedicated to this blog.
And that leads the question of why I’ve spent a quarter of my life on this blog. Why? Because you, the one reading this, is my reason. You read my work and spur me on to create better content year after year. You are the one sending me emails and the one who tells me you can’t get enough. And that’s more than enough reason for me to love writing.
This blog is a huge part of who I am, and without it I would lose part of my identity. This blog is more than an internet journal, it is the story of a 15-year-old girl who has grown into a young adult and gone to college, had jobs, been in relationships, and survived more than a few friendships. It is me.
As I go into my fifth year, which is a HUGE deal for me, I look forward to everything that is to come. From the blog posts to the comments to possibly running into one of you on the street or at a concert. The possibilities are endless. This year is our year, our most enthusiastic year!
Thank you for joining me on this journey so far, and I hope you enjoy everything else on this maroon, pink, and grey road!
