The Products I Swear By For Keeping My Balayage Healthy

There truly is no better feeling than having healthy hair. When I decided to balayage my hair in September, my main concern was that my hair would become a damaged mess. Bleach dries out hair and a bit of work is required to keep hair manageably soft. After some research and product testing, I've found the products that keep my color-treated, fine hair healthy and happy. And it would be rude not to share with you.

OUAI Detox Shampoo

If you are sweaty and use dry shampoo like it's a lifeline, you need to be using a clarifying shampoo once a week. This one leaves my scalp feeling clean and fresh after a week's worth of product is washed out. A little goes a long way too, making it a good investment. And while I can't smell, so many people have complimented me on OUAI's velvety Melrose Place scent used in this clarifying shampoo.

Olaplex No.4P Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo

I saw someone use this shampoo on TikTok and their hair literally went a whole shade blonder. It was an instant purchase. Leave this shampoo on for five minutes and suddenly your blonde is brighter and your brass is gone. Olaplex has become a household name for a reason, and if you are greying or bleaching I highly recommend this for your routine.

amika Bust Your Brass Cool Blonde Purple Intense Repair Hair Mask

Originally I discovered this as a sample for an order I received. Sat in my bathroom for two weeks because I already had a purple mask. But right before I left for a wedding weekend I decided to mix it up and use this mask - and I never went back! Not only does it tone out brass, but it makes hair so soft. Like so soft I left the bathroom to ask my mother to feel how soft my hair was. I've already purchased the full size and will be toting it with me for the end of time.

IGK Thirsty Girl Leave-In Conditioner

Another sample product I fell in love with, this leave-in conditioner is one I can feel working through my entire wash cycle. It's extremely hydrating, a must for bleached hair. I also appreciate that it comes in an aerosol versus spray, as it applies more evenly into my thin hair.

Verb Ghost Dry Conditioner Oil

When I first heard of dry conditioner it sounded like an oxymoron. Conditioner isn't supposed to be dry. But now I know it as a must-have product for getting the most out of your hair. I spray this on my ends most mornings to keep the ends hydrated, and then will mist on top of dry shampoo to make sure my roots aren't being dried out on Day 3 and 4. Because my hair feels hydrated it produces less oil, which is amazing for an oily girl like me. A super quality product that has prolonged my hair washing the most.

Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil

I'm upset that it took so long for me to add this to my routine. It's a staple. Not only does a bottle last forever so that $28 is money well spent, but it performs magic. Smoothes away stray hairs, adds shine, and is a heat protectant! Adding this into my routine changed the game and suddenly most days are good hair days. I like to add a few drops of oil to my hair before styling, or add to dry hair when it's looking a little lifeless. It's super versatile, which you always want in a hair product.
