A few weeks ago (yeah, I’m really behind on my organization) I was tagged by Sabrina from Books and Bark in the Social Media Tag. This tag is cool and different and I thought, “Hey, let’s reconnect with those books you’re always attempting to write.”
Last summer I gave myself the challenge to write an entire book. And, oddly enough, I actually accomplished that goal. It took until the very last day of summer (to be finished right before 12am) but it’s a real thing now. And definitely one of the more mature pieces I’ve ever written in terms of writing. I’ve chosen this novel for the tag. Let’s begin!
The Social Media Tag (Or Where We Shamelessly Discuss My Book)
Twitter Describe your plot in 140 characters or less.
Facebook With all the grandparents on Facebook, who is your oldest character?
It would have to be my favourite character, Sophia’s mom, because she’s basically a whole bag of issues and there are no grandparents in this book.
Instagram Selfie! Find a picture that resembles your character.
WordPress Designing the theme is the best part, so how did/would you design your book cover?
Look at horrible I was at designing cover art.
Tumblr Naming your Tumblog is so difficult, how did you name your book?
The book is about Sophia’s parents ending due to her father’s affair and how she goes to Connecticut to recuperate. And then in Connecticut she’s caught in a love triangle of her own. So “Affairs” really seemed like the most appropriate title.
Spring.me Ask your character one weird question and have them answer.
Me: But what does happen at the football parties? Christina: Only people invited know. And you’re definitely not cool enough to understand.
To understand this question, make sure to check out “Affairs” on Wattpad. Yes, you can actually read this book.
Pandora/Spotify What do you listen to while writing?
For this book, I found that music about relationships was really inspiring. I listened to “Heartbreak Girl” by 5 Seconds of Summer a lot, but there’s lot of other songs that I really enjoyed. Anything about unrequited love.
Myspace All good things must come to an end. What is one book idea that didn’t come to fruition?
Well, there are 9,000 ideas like that. One that I think I’m a little upset that I didn’t finish was this one I had about a American exchange student who fell in love with a girl who was dating this big-headed popstar. It was an interesting concept, but I had trouble writing it.
And that’s my tag! I know you’re supposed to tag people, but I don’t really know who to tag. So, if you’re a writer, I tag you!
I hope that this has interested/entertained you, and if you want to read “Affairs” after this, you can read it here on Wattpad. It’s pretty okay if you’re into reading.
Thank you so much for reading!
